Founded by Yair Rodriguez and Elvis Ortega, the studio is the result of their passion for woodworking and steel-working, respectively, which have been passed down through generations of their families. With a focus on handcrafting quality custom furniture using local resources, 1840 Creative blends wood and steel in innovative ways to create industrial and modern-industrial furniture with a unique aesthetic.
The name "1840" is a nod to the Industrial Revolution, a time of transition between wood and steel, and Yair and Elvis continue to incorporate these materials in creative ways to create one-of-a-kind pieces.
